Ford vs Chevy - The Eternal Question...

The Back Alley Cruisers Car Club was founded in the summer of 2007 by 5 neighbors with classic cars feeling the need for an identity. In our back alley we separate Ford and Chevrolet by a common strip of tar. Between 3 households we have 6 classics/muscle cars. Our back yards, separated by the alley, hold a '67 Chevelle, '65 Chevy II Nova, '61 Ford Fairlane 500, '54 Ford, '50 Ford, '56 Ford Fairlane Victoria all brought together by one fire pit and popcorn. However Ford and Chevy do work together at times, to host their car show every other Saturday night from April to September (see the Events page); cruise to far off destinations, help each other with repairs or restorations, and receive counseling from the "other side of the alley."

MEET OUR MEMBERS

Jeff & Shannon - soon to be married on the starting line at Brainerd International Speedway have a '67 Chevelle and a '65 Chevy II. The Chevelle was purchased in the fall of 2006 and was restored by Jeff & Shannon themselves in 4 months. It was driven to it's first car show on April 26, 2007. This year it is getting a new paint job and a cowl hood. Shannon is wishing for a big block, but will have to wait until after the wedding. Jeff has owned the Nova for 19 years and just started the resto process 2 years ago. He is hoping to have the Nova on the road yet this spring.

Jeff & Tammi - Own a '61 Ford Fairlane 500 and a '54 Ford. Jeff's '54 Ford changes every time you see it. Things like the roof color, the wheels, the motor. He is in the process of changing it from 6 volt to 12 volt due to issues. He really likes the original Y-Block and hates to think of changing it at all. He drives the wheels off his car and enjoys every minute of it! Tammi on the other hand, would like to have the body work and paint done in the near future, along with some other things. They are both very active with MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association).

Arlow - Who's get up and go has got up and went! He thinks he's funny, for a man who can't seem to find the gas pedal. He is probably our most knowledgeable member. Arlow is the proud owner of a '50 Ford that he just purchased last summer and a '56 Ford that he has had for many years.

Tim - Our artistic comedian is in the process, along with Jeff, of designing a great logo for our club. Watch for it soon! Tim ownes an original Cosworth Vega and is also restoring a '32 Studebaker Coupe. We all think the coupe is going to be a real eye catcher.
Newest members are Mike and Glenn, check out the photos page for pics of all members cars and activities. We are adding members all the time so keep checking back for updates. Hope you enjoy our site.
